Getting married? Get crazy and book a yacht for your bachelor!
If you want a bachelor or bachelorette party that feels like Greece, not like a crowded bar at home, the sea is the move. Here in Halkidiki we do it simple: good friends, cold drinks, clear water, and a skipper who knows where the party works and where it gets messy.
Halkidiki sits just south of Thessaloniki, with three peninsulas stretching into the Aegean. That geography is perfect for a yacht party because you can mix open water with sheltered bays, and you can change the vibe fast depending on wind and mood. For official info on the region and what’s open each season, you can check Visit Greece and the Municipality of Thessaloniki site if you are combining the trip with city nightlife.
For a Bachelor’s or Bachelorette party, what could be more fun and impressive than chartering a private yacht, motor, or sail, just for you and your friends having an endless party on board, for a day or more? No experience is needed for this kind of charter, but a desire to help sail the yacht will enhance your enjoyment. Our skippers know exactly where to take you and we can provide you with a list of entertaining activities and places with intense nightlife, clubs, and restaurants that you can visit. It will definitely be a pre-marriage non-stop party, you will never forget.
A quick local note from the helm: in Halkidiki, the best bachelor routes depend on which peninsula you want to see and how much time you have. Kassandra is closer to Thessaloniki and easy for a day charter with a late lunch stop. Sithonia gives you more quiet coves and that “wow” water color, especially in the morning when it’s calm. The Athos Coast is special and more remote-feeling, but it needs a bit more planning and respect for the area. If you want to understand the geography before you arrive, this overview is handy: Chalkidiki (Halkidiki) on Wikipedia.
Most groups ask me the same thing first: “Will we be bored on a boat all day?” No chance. You swim, you float, you play music, you take photos, you anchor near a beach bar if that’s your style, or you stay in a quiet bay and just enjoy being together. And if the weather turns, we adjust. That’s the whole point of having a skipper who actually knows the local corners and not just the main postcard spots.
The boats that we use are offshore sailing vessels, professionally maintained in excellent condition. All the boats have three or more cabins, fully equipped galley (kitchen), WC with pressurized hot water, auxiliary engine, dinghy (tender) with outboard engine, Bimini top (tent for a shade over the cockpit), all the necessary navigation and safety equipment (buy Greek law all touristic professional boats are required to have life rafts for all the passengers, VHF radio equipped with DSC system and an EPIRB, fire extinguishers and much more, not to mention very strict boat inspections to make sure every boat is safe).
Sea and outdoor activities depend on the weather and your own fitness level. Always follow local safety advice and skipper instructions.
If you are choosing between a motor yacht and a sailing yacht for the party, think about the style of your group. Motor is great when you want more distance in a day and more time hopping between swim stops. Sailing is for the ones who want the real sea feeling, the quiet glide, and that moment when everyone suddenly stops talking because the boat is moving with just wind. Either way, you get shade, a proper toilet, and space to chill without being on top of each other. Just don’t overpack. I see it every week, ten people arrive with ten hard suitcases, and then we play Tetris.
A typical day plan looks like this: we meet at the marina, quick briefing, load drinks and snacks, then off. First swim stop is usually early, before the bays get busy. Later we do a longer stop for lunch, either on board with simple food or at a seaside taverna if you want plates and cold beer on land. In the afternoon, another swim and photos when the light is softer. If you go multi-day, evenings can be calm in a protected bay or you can dock near a town for dinner and nightlife, depending on what you want and what the port has available.
Start times and the exact route can change with wind, marina traffic, and what the group feels like on the day. That’s normal here. If you are flying in and trying to connect everything tightly, leave a bit of breathing room, ok?
Timetables, opening hours and routes can change without notice. Always double-check locally before you travel.
How to reach the boat is straightforward. Most charters in Halkidiki are accessed from marinas and ports around Kassandra and Sithonia, and you usually arrive by car or transfer from Thessaloniki. Thessaloniki Airport is the main gateway, then it’s roughly an hour to two hours driving depending on where you embark and traffic. In summer weekends, traffic into Halkidiki can be heavy, especially Friday afternoon and Sunday evening, so plan for that instead of stressing at the last minute.
Season matters more than people think. May and June feel fresh, the water is clear, and the bays are not packed yet. July and August are hot, busy, and fun, but you need to be smart with shade and hydration. September is my secret favorite for bachelor groups that want quality time: warm sea, softer sun, and less chaos at anchor. Winds are usually manageable, but when it blows, it can blow. If you want a reality check on conditions before you travel, use the official forecast tools like meteo.gr and keep in mind forecasts change fast around capes.
What to do on board, besides the obvious party, depends on your crew. Some groups bring a small speaker and keep it chill. Some want a full theme, matching hats, and games. I’m fine with all of it as long as it stays safe and respectful to other boats around. If you want underwater action, Halkidiki has proper diving too. For scuba options and local sea knowledge, have a look at portoscuba.com and we can coordinate a plan that fits your route and experience level.
One more local tip: if your party is around a big Greek holiday weekend, marinas and popular bays fill up fast. Agiou Pneymatos weekend is a classic for Greek getaways, and it can feel like the whole country is heading to the sea. If your dates are flexible, ask us what’s better. If your dates are fixed, book earlier and keep expectations realistic for quiet anchorages. The holiday dates are here:
Monday, June 1 2026
.Also, if you are planning around Orthodox Easter, many tavernas and shops change schedules, and some areas get busy with local families. It’s a beautiful time to be in Greece, just different energy than peak summer party season. The dates are here:
Sun, Apr 12 2026
.If you are thinking multi-day, the best part is waking up already in a bay. Morning swim, coffee on deck, then an easy sail or cruise to the next spot. Cabins give you privacy when you need it, and the cockpit is where everyone ends up anyway. Just remember: on a boat, simple is better. Bring light clothes, one warm layer for the evening breeze, and shoes that won’t mark the deck.
If you’d like to explore the coast, ask us about day trips at sea and sailing boat options.
Prices include:
- boat fees
- skipper fees
- fuel
- cooking LPG
- water (not for drinking)
- marina and port fees*
- electricity
- VAT
- one set of clean sheets, pillowcase, and bathroom towel per person
- dinghy outboard use
* Sunny marina, Miraggio, and Porto Carras marinas are exceptions and in case the guests insist on staying there they have to pay the docking and/or overnight fees.
That little star matters, because those marinas can be a big part of the budget if you insist on sleeping inside. Many groups prefer anchoring in a calm bay anyway, it feels more like an adventure and you wake up with a swim. If you do want a marina night for showers on land, a proper dinner, or easy taxi access, we can plan it, just keep it flexible because availability changes quick in high season.
Not included
- food and beverages
- drinking water
- dinghy outboard gas
- skipper’s food and beverages
- other consumables as toilet paper, kitchen paper, coffee, sugar, etc.
Food and drinks are where you can really personalize the day. Some crews want a simple cooler setup with beers, soft drinks, fruit, and sandwiches. Others go for a proper onboard spread and keep it classy. If you want to bring your own, we will tell you what stores are easiest near the marina. If you want us to help arrange provisioning, we can do that too, just tell us what kind of vibe you want and if there are allergies. And please, don’t forget drinking water. It sounds obvious, but it’s the first thing people underbuy when the sun is strong.
A few practical things that make the day smoother: arrive on time, bring sunscreen that won’t stain everything, and keep the heavy drinking for later in the day after the main swims. If someone gets seasick, it is usually worse on an empty stomach, so eat something small early. And if you are bringing decorations, go for simple stuff that won’t fly away and end up in the sea. We keep the Aegean clean, that’s the deal.
You can also combine the yacht day with a night out on land. Kassandra has the most intense summer nightlife, with beach bars and late dinners, while Sithonia is more about relaxed seaside tavernas and slow evenings. If you tell me what your group is like, I’ll point you to the right area without overselling it. Some places look wild on social media and then you arrive and it’s just loud music and expensive drinks, so better to choose smart.
For groups that want something a bit different, we can add a calm swim in crystal water early, then later anchor near a busier beach zone for the party photos. Timing is everything. If we hit popular bays at the wrong hour, it can feel crowded. If we hit them early, it feels like you own the place. That’s why listening to your skipper helps, even if you think you already know the plan.
If you are also planning the wedding in Greece and want ideas for a ceremony or a photo session on the water, it pairs perfectly with a bachelor trip a few days before. Keep it simple and elegant and let the sea do the work.

Who this trip suits best
Bachelor and bachelorette yacht charters work best for groups that want privacy, flexibility, and a real Greece experience. It suits mixed groups too, not only the “wild” crews. Couples joining for a day, older friends, even families tagging along for the swim part, it can all work if everyone is on the same page. If your group wants clubbing all day long, a boat is still great, but we will balance it with safe anchorages and realistic stops. And if your group wants mostly swimming and views with just a bit of party, that’s honestly the easiest and most fun day on the water.
A few local ground rules that keep it fun
Respect the skipper’s safety calls, especially when we are entering a harbor or when wind picks up. Don’t jump from the boat unless the skipper says it’s safe and checks depth and traffic. Keep music at a level that doesn’t start a war with the boats next to us. And if you want to swim at night, talk to us first. It can be done in the right conditions, but it is not a free-for-all. These are small things, but they keep the party going instead of ending it early, you know?
