7 days sailing 2026 Halkidiki vacation packages review

Seven-Day Sailing Vacations in Halkidiki. It’s the trip of a lifetime in a yachting paradise. Review our 2026 packages below.

Halkidiki sits in Northern Greece, just southeast of Thessaloniki, and it is one of those places that looks like it was made for boats. Three peninsulas, clear water, short hops between bays, and a coastline full of anchorages that still feel quiet if you know where to look.

Halkidiki, as you are probably discovering on our site, is not only a fantastic tourist destination but also a well-hidden yachting paradise. You can visit the cosmopolitan eastern shore of the Kassandra peninsula, enjoy the unspoiled western shores of Sithonia, or mix it up so you get the best of both worlds. A skippered sailing vacation in Halkidiki is one of the best options for people with no prior sailing experience.

Where exactly you will be sailing

Most guests picture Halkidiki as a single beach region, but from a skipper’s view it is a mini sailing world. Kassandra is the lively peninsula with beach bars, resort marinas, and easy nights ashore. Sithonia is the greener, quieter one, with more coves, more wild anchorages, and that “we found our own beach” feeling.

Our base is in Neos Marmaras on Sithonia, which makes planning simple. We can head south for the remote bays, or cross to Kassandra when the group wants more nightlife and shopping. If you want a bit of culture on land, Thessaloniki is close enough for an extra night before or after the trip. For official destination info, you can also check the Greek National Tourism Organisation.

Is Halkidiki a good place to go on vacation?

In a word, yes! And here are just a few of the reasons why:

  • It is incredibly beautiful. Even the Greeks consider it a top-tier vacation spot; international tourists just haven’t caught on yet. There are places here that feel like the tropics, but without the jet lag.
  • The food is amazing. Enjoy fresh, local fish and traditional meze to go with your ouzo or tsipouro. It’s traditional Greek food at its absolute best. You will find it very difficult to go back to your normal diet once you return home.
  • It’s safe. Very safe! The locals will gladly give you directions and go out of their way to help you get to your destination.
  • The history. Ancient history! Aristotle was actually born in Halkidiki. There are plenty of archaeological sites to visit, including the Petralona Cave, where one of the oldest human skeletons in Europe was discovered.
  • Halkidiki nightlife. You can enjoy a quiet evening out or go clubbing all night. Seriously, most clubs stay open until the morning, and not just on weekends.
  • Local products. You’ll find incredible honey, wine, herbs and spices, olive oil, olives, cheese, soap, and more.
  • You can enjoy all of this while sailing far away from the crowded beaches. Or, you can drop anchor right in front of a beach bar and start your bar-hopping campaign, Halkidiki vacation style.

The natural backdrops are stunning!

Our home base in Neos Marmaras is perfectly located so we can give you the absolute best options.

From the cockpit you get the full show. Pine trees coming right down to the water, rocky headlands with hidden sand patches, and sunsets that turn the whole gulf orange. On calm mornings the sea can look like glass, and you can see the anchor chain sitting on the bottom in five or six meters. Some days it is so clear it feels unreal, even for me and I sail here all the time.

If you want a quick look at local conditions before you pack, it is worth checking the Hellenic National Meteorological Service. Weather changes fast in the Aegean, and we plan each day to keep it comfortable.

Who these 7 days suit best

This route works well for mixed groups. Couples who want a bit of romance and quiet swims. Families who need easy anchorages and short legs, plus beaches where kids can hop in and out. Groups of friends who want nightlife on Kassandra for a night or two, then back to the calm of Sithonia.

If you are worried about seasickness, tell us early. We can keep the first days gentle and choose the more protected waters. It helps a lot, and honestly most people are fine after the first afternoon.

This year you have at least seven days for vacation. Great! Let us take care of you. Book a Halkidiki sailing vacation package. The best Halkidiki vacation package ever!

Your Halkidiki vacation will start when you meet our transportation crew at the “Macedonia” Airport in Thessaloniki (SKG). It is about a 90-minute drive to our base in Neos Marmaras, and the road winds through a beautiful Mediterranean forest right by the sea. It’s a wonderful way to kick off your trip with us. When you arrive in Neos Marmaras, your captain will take care of you, show you around the yacht, go over basic safety rules, and take you to the supermarket for provisioning (grocery shopping). And then, we set sail!

Getting here is easy. Fly into Thessaloniki, then drive south through Central Macedonia and down into Sithonia. If you are arriving with a rental car, parking in Neos Marmaras is usually manageable outside peak weekends, but in July and August it can be a bit of a hunt. We can advise on the practical stuff, like where to meet and what to bring on board so you do not overpack.

Timetables, opening hours and routes can change without notice. Always double-check locally before you travel.

What “skippered” really means for you

A skipper is not just the person holding the wheel. On a good week, I am also your local planner, weather reader, and the one who knows which bay has the best holding and which taverna actually grills fish the right way. You can be as hands-on as you like. Some guests want to learn the basics, trim a sail, and steer. Others want to read a book and jump in for swims. Both are perfect.

Our local team of skippers, travel agents and scuba instructors with over 20 years of experience in Halkidiki is here to help you.

Sea and outdoor activities depend on the weather and your own fitness level. Always follow local safety advice and skipper instructions.

What to pack without overthinking it

Soft bags, not hard suitcases. Light layers for evenings, especially in May, June, and September when the breeze picks up after sunset. Reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, and shoes that do not mark the deck. If you like snorkeling, bring your own mask for a better fit, although we always have some on board. And please, one windbreaker per person saves the day more often than you would think, even when the forecast looks summer-hot.

Our 7-Day Halkidiki Sailing Vacation Route Plan for 2026.

  1. Once you finish provisioning, we will take you to a nearby, heavenly beach so you can relax after a long day of flying and traveling. It is “Kamenos” beach, one of Porto Carras’s secret coves that is practically inaccessible except by boat. In the evening, you will head back to Neos Marmaras for a wine and cheese tasting experience before dinner.
  2. The next day, we visit Akti Elias, Kalogria Beach, and Agios Ioannis Beach. We’ll do some sailing and snorkeling, and spend the night at the Nikiti marina. The Nikiti waterfront walkway is always lively in the evenings.
  3. Next, we explore the beach at Metamorphosis, passing by the Danae Villas resort in Vatopedi, Psakoudia, and Potidaia. We’ll stop for the night under the Byzantine tower in Nea Fokea.
  4. It is time for some great sailing as we explore the eastern side of the Kassandra peninsula, passing by Afytos, Kalithea, Kryopigi, Polychrono, and Haniotis. A stop at Pefkohori for shopping and a visit to a taverna is a must. We will then stop at Glarokavos Golden Beach and Hrousos Paliouri Beach before spending the night at the brand-new, five-star Miraggio resort in Kanistro.
  5. We will sail to the southernmost tip of Sithonia to the secluded, hard-to-reach beach of Marathias, and then around to the east side with stops at Kalamitsi. Finally, we’ll spend the night at the Sykia fishing village. Getting fresh fish at a local taverna is a great menu option here.
  6. We return to the west side after stopping at Klimataria Beach and the unbelievable Kriaritsi (a place that looks straight out of the tropics, which you can truly appreciate only from a boat). Finally, we stop at the Porto Koufo fishing village, famous for its fish tavernas.
  7. Explore western Sithonia, starting with a swim under the ancient Toroni citadel, Tristinika, and the Ethnic beach bar. We’ll hit Aretes Beach, the Spalathronisia islands, and my personal favorite beach at Agia Kyriaki, before spending the night in a small, quiet cove. The next morning, we return to Marmaras by 10:00 a.m.

Little local notes that make this route even better

Day 1 is all about landing softly. Kamenos is perfect for that, protected and calm, with that Porto Carras coastline that stays green even in late summer. After a travel day, a short sail and an easy swim is exactly what your body needs, even if you think you have energy for more.

On Day 2 around Akti Elias and Kalogria, the water is often very clear in the morning. If you like underwater photos, that is your moment. If you want to add scuba instead of snorkeling, Nikiti and the wider area have options and we can point you to the right direction. For diving info and local services, have a look at portoscuba.com.

Day 3 to Nea Fokea is a nice change of vibe, and that Byzantine tower makes the evening feel special without trying too hard. If the group wants a little history break, this is where it fits naturally. For background on the region’s past, the Chalcidice page on Wikipedia is a good quick reference.

Day 4 on Kassandra’s east side can be as social as you want. Afytos and Kalithea are known for their summer buzz, and a stop in Pefkohori is genuinely useful for supplies. People always end up grabbing beachwear, a phone charger, or that one thing they forgot at home. Then you finish the day at Miraggio, which feels very polished and is a fun contrast to the anchor nights.

Days 5 and 6 are why most sailors fall in love with Sithonia. Marathias and Kalamitsi have that open-sea feeling, but we time it right so it stays comfortable. Kriaritsi is one of those places where guests go quiet for a minute when we round the headland. It is that blue. Porto Koufo is a proper natural harbor, and on windy evenings it can be the coziest night of the whole week.

Day 7 along Toroni and the west coast is the classic finish. A swim with the old citadel above you, then beaches and little islands, then a quiet cove so you sleep well before returning. The 10:00 a.m. return is realistic, but it still depends on the sea and on how the last night goes, so keep your flight plans flexible when you can.

Seasonal feel: what changes from May to October

May and early June are bright and green. Water is cooler but very refreshing, and anchorages are calm. Late June to August is peak summer. More boats, more beach traffic, and warmer nights. September is my personal favorite. Sea is still warm, the light is softer, and the crowds drop fast after the first half of the month. October can be beautiful too, but we plan more carefully around weather windows, because the breeze can turn into a proper blow some days.

About fishing on your Halkidiki vacation

We exclusively do troll fishing on our day trips, which is a sustainable practice with very little impact on local fish populations.

Read more about it in this guide…>

If someone in the group really wants to try it, tell the skipper early in the day. Trolling works best when we are moving between spots, not when we are doing short hops from beach to beach. Also, not every day is a “fish day”. That is the sea. When it happens, though, cooking fresh catch on board is a memory people keep for years.

Food, tavernas, and provisioning tips from the cockpit

Provisioning is simple in Neos Marmaras. We do one solid supermarket run, then top up with fresh items during the week. My advice is to keep breakfasts easy, plan two or three lunches on board, and leave dinners flexible for tavernas. That way you do not end up carrying too much food in the fridge, and you can say yes when you find a good place.

On the fish side, Porto Koufo and Sykia are strong choices, and Nikiti has plenty of variety for families. If you love local products, pick up Halkidiki honey and olive oil early. They also make the best gifts, and they survive the trip home better than you think.

Comfort, cabins, and what life on board feels like

Cabins are cozy, like on any yacht, but the real living room is outside. Most days you will be in swimwear, drying in the sun, then throwing on a shirt for a taverna. Freshwater is limited, so we teach you the easy habits that keep everyone happy. Quick rinses, smart dishwashing, and no wasted water. It sounds strict, but it becomes normal on day one, no stress.

If you have a special request, like a birthday on board, a quiet proposal spot, or you want to organize something for a small celebration, tell us. We can usually make it happen in a simple, local way. Nothing overproduced, just done right.

Route flexibility and why it matters

Please keep in mind that the actual route may change. It depends on the group. Our captains are highly experienced and can quickly get a feel for everyone’s sea legs (tolerance for the waves). Depending on what you prefer, whether it’s cosmopolitan beach bar partying or finding Halkidiki’s best-secluded beaches, your captain will make custom recommendations.

Sometimes the best day of the week is the one we did not plan. A bay is too crowded, so we move 20 minutes and find peace. The wind swings, so we flip the order of stops and suddenly the sail is smooth and quiet. That is the advantage of a skipper who knows the coastline well, and why a seven-day plan is a guide, not a cage.

Ready to talk dates and boat options?

If you tell us your group size, the vibe you want, and your travel dates, we will suggest the right yacht and a realistic plan. Some people want more sailing time, others want more swim stops. Both are doable, just say it from the start ok.

If you’d like to explore the coast, ask us about day trips at sea and sailing boat options.
